Shaun Alpine Crabtree
Chef Patron of The Table Café
Theatre: Seven Pillars of a Better Business Workshop
One of London’s best-kept secrets, The Table is a chic little eatery located a stone’s throw from Tate Modern, the South Bank and Borough Market. With a clientele made up of local residents, business people, architects and artists, the clean, modern space bustles from dawn till dark.
From the sleek open kitchen comes an eclectic mix of modern British cuisine, expertly prepared using locally sourced ingredients and complemented by a seasonal wine list. All the food is produced in-house daily, from the breakfast date and walnut bread to the signature burger with secret-recipe sauce.
The introduction of live jazz sessions every Friday and Saturday night has proved a big hit, w dining on the tree-lined terrace on Farnham Place is in high demand.
Following a career that has seen him craft his trade in kitchens as illustrious – and diverse – as Darley Street Thai in Sydney and L’Odeon in London, co-owner Shaun Alpine-Crabtree has in The Table found a business he feels passionately about, and in which he can continue to grow and evolve, while sending customers away with a smile on their face, a comfortably full stomach and a wallet that hasn't taken too much of a battering.
