Theatre: Internet Marketing
As founder and CEO of Tweak.com, Jerry Kennelly is making Madison Avenue standard design accessible to small and medium businesses – allowing them to compete visually with the big global brands.
Kennelly, who was previously a photojournalist and later a pioneering pre-press entrepreneur, founded Stockbyte and Stockdisc in Tralee, Ireland. The two companies captured 10% of the worldwide royalty-free stock photography market in ten years. Both companies produced the highest pro-rata profit and profitability per employee in this worldwide industry. In April 2006, they were sold to Getty Images (formerly GYI) for $135 million.
Stockbyte is a former winner of the DHL Exporter of the Year Award and Kennelly has been honored by the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards. He was selected as the Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year in 2005.
Awarded an honorary fellowship for his contribution to Entrepreneurship in 2009, Kennelly co-founded The Young Entrepreneur Programme, The Junior Entrepreneur Programme and Endeavour, Ireland’s leading accelerator program. In September 2010, he was awarded with an honorary doctorate in economics by the University of Limerick.
Jerry Kennelly is Ireland’s Net Visionary 2011, the premier award in the Irish Internet Association’s annual awards ceremony.
